GAME Plan for NET-S

I believe that the first step in creating a GAME plan in recognizing one's strengths and weaknesses. Many people, especially students, like to do what they are comfortable with or good at. In creating a list of items that you need additional experience with, setting a goal becomes easier as well as more meaningful.
I would begin by educating my students on the NET-S so that they were aware of what they were listing as their strengths and weaknesses. Then I would work with each student by conferencing with them about their abilities. Creating individual goals for each student is time consuming but critical. No two students are alike, so creating one mass goal doesn’t seem appropriate.  As a teacher, I will have to provide the students with opportunities for the students to practice these new skills. As we all know, monitoring and readjusting as we go, is one of the most important aspects of working through a GAME plan.  Providing a timeline and check points for the students will help give them structure and purpose towards working to their individual goal. Much like writing, conferencing with the students on their progress can show them what questions should be asked through the process. Talking the steps out will help the students to become self-directed learners, which is the overarching goal.
